A genuine personal service from a personal tax practitioner with over 30 years experience and where the client is a name not a number.
My main areas of work is advising UK individuals (both working and retired) in relation to their personal tax affairs. Preparation of their Self-Assessment Tax Returns including income tax and capital gains tax reporting. Checking PAYE codes, HMRC tax calculations and appealing if they are incorrect.
I advise on Inheritance tax/Will planning and passing on family wealth to future generations.
Examples of recent work include preparation of IHT report calculating individuals IHT exposure, providing life time and death planning advice, a disclosure for UK individual with undeclared Spanish let property income, and the settlement of historic tax on an undeclared Buy 2 Let property.
I advise on UK taxes only.
I can meet for an hour free of charge in Manchester and Cheshire
Where possible I quote a fixed fee for a project, and include this in my engagement letter. My charge out rate is £100 per hour. I expect payment to be made on presentation of my invoice.
The minimum fee for a small project, such as a Tax Return is £500 and an outline inheritance tax review, usually is £750.
For larger projects the fee depends on time, complexity, value of the advice and level of risk, but will always be agreed in advance.
My Background & Experience
After obtaining a BA (Hons) degree at Loughborough University, I joined HMRC training and working as a Tax Officer (Higher Grade) for two years, in a specialist district dealing with retired UK individuals.
Following this, I worked in private practice for top ten practices Grant Thornton and Baker Tilly (now RSM Tenon) in Manchester for over 15 years. I handled the personal tax affairs of company directors, sole traders, partnerships and high net worth stand alone individuals.
I then worked for MBL (Business & Tax Advisers) Ltd as Head of Private Tax clients for 14 years until 2020 gaining considerable experience in the UK property sector. As well as undertaking client work in preparing Self-Assessment Tax Returns, I managed the tax department and provided technical support for the partners. For example, I advised on company benefits, profit extraction, property tax issues, UK residence, and Estate planning.
I now run my own tax business Storer Tax Services and have been assisting individuals with their personal tax affairs.
I am a qualified member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.
