Bemused by IHT, bothered by trusts, bewildered by wills and executorship? With over 20 years of experience in these areas, Digby is ideally placed to help.

Bemused by IHT, bothered by trusts, bewildered by wills and executorship ? With over 20 years of experience in these areas, Digby is ideally placed to help.

Digby is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Committee Member of STEP's Gloucestershire & Wiltshire Branch, and a Fellow of the Federation of Tax Advisers.

Having graduated with a degree in Business Law from Lanchester Polytechnic (as it then was), Coventry in the late 1970s, Digby worked in the private client departments of several provincial firms of solicitors before establishing his own consultancy service in 1995 providing technical support, initially to other professional practitioners, in all aspects of 'private client' work.

Digby's range of skills and experience is such that he is able to advise comprehensively on the structuring of private wealth to ensure long-term devolution, encompassing inheritance tax and other capital tax issues, estate and trust administration and taxation, and the taxation of foreign domiciliaries. He also offers a mobile will-writing service and will visit a client at home to discuss, sympathetically, what for so many people is such a difficult and daunting topic. Based in rural Gloucestershire for over 15 years, Digby has acquired extensive experience, and a particular interest, in advising on the mitigation of inheritance tax and capital gains tax for farmers and landowners.

A feature of Digby's service is its holistic approach, involving his management of the effective delivery of a multi-disciplinary range of services from other professional advisors, whether legal, accountancy, financial planning, or valuation, to meet a client's needs.

Fees are always agreed in advance of any work being undertaken whether by way of a fixed fee or as an agreed budget for more complicated assignments.

Digby lectures nationally for CCH and PTP Training Ltd on landed estates, estate planning, and the administration and taxation of trusts and estates, and is a regular contributor to the Readers' Forum section of 'Taxation' magazine; comments on the text of James Kessler's book, 'Drafting Trusts and Will Trusts : A Modern Approach' earned acknowledgements in both the 5th and 6th Editions.

An avid cyclist, Digby has been a passionate, and 'one-eyed', supporter of Gloucester Rugby Club for many years, and is regularly to be found in the Club's (in)famous Shed putting the world, and the match officials, to rights; with what is left of his voice he is also an enthusiastic (not to be confused with talented) member of Cirencester Choral Society.
