I was testing the impact of a ‘gate’ that obliged users to provide their name and email address before letting them see any profiles.
Part of the thinking behind this was to provide more details of who uses the site. And then to potentially target them with follow up emails.
In practice this hasn’t generated any worthwhile benefits and as there was also a problem with how it worked I have had the ‘gate’ deactivated.
