Unique support for Financial Advisers

Financial advisers are welcome to use the Tax Advice Network to obtain tax advice for clients. We also provide a unique masterclass to help financial advisers secure more qualified leads from accountants. Secure your place on 17 March now. Full details here.

We are currently running a survey to clarify whether or not the experiences shared by financial advisers at the start of the masterclass are typical or were they all just unlucky? If you can't see the popup window on this page then please click here and share your views please. It will just take a minute or two. And if you include your name and contact details we will send you a summary of the results when the survey period closes.

Here are our FAQs for financial advisers.

We are more than a directory but not a resource for free tax advice either (even for members of IFA Life!)

What do you want - 1 or 2?

1 - Just to get some simple advice over the phone
. If you'd be happy to receive your tax advice over the phone please use our Tax Advice Helpline - it's just under £30 (including VAT) you'll need to have a credit card ready to pay for this before you're connected to an adviser.

2 - To discuss a client's situation with a tax expert

Most accountants are great at dealing with most day to day tax issues. So if your client has an accountant they should be your first port of call - just as you go to the doctor rather than to a specialist when you feel unwell.

If however your client doesn't have an accountant or you feel that the situation is too complex for the accountant please see the guide to using this website below.

HOW TO USE THIS WEBSITE

First please register your name and email address or log in, if you have registered previously. That's all. It takes just a few seconds. This will then enable you to access key elements of the site.

Now you have a choice:

1 - If you simply want telephone advice you can use our fixed rate, low cost Tax Advice helpline; alternatively

2 - You can search and find local tax experts using our list of over 30 tax specialisms or the search bar on the home page of the website.

When you 'search' the system will identify tax advisers who can help you. To view their profiles and decide who you want to use, you will need to register your name and email address. That's all. It takes just a few seconds.

You can then check out the tax advisers' profiles, photos (if they have one), ratings, testimonials and articles. And then you call or email your chosen tax adviser using the contact details on their profiles. Whatever approach best suits you.

PLEASE NOTE

1 - Some of our members prefer only to deal with accountants - partly due to the client identification procedures that now apply. This should be clear on their profiles. In most cases though they will gladly take calls from financial advisers who want to access tax advice for their clients.

2 - Our members are specialists and generally charge accordingly. Whoever you approach will inform you of their fees and terms of business. They will also need to verify your identity and possibly that of your client (if they are to be responsible for fees) before they can provide any advice - this is a legal requirement under the Money Laundering Regulations.

3 - We recently introduced the facility for users to provide feedback and ratings on the advisers and their work. This will take time to build up!

4 - Tax advisers will be contracting directly with you or your client for the supply of tax advice and work. The Tax Advice Network merely facilitates this relationship.

5 - If you need further clarification, please call or email us through the 'Contact us' link above.
