What does it cost me to use this site?

Nothing, if all you want to do is to use our search facilities to find tax advisers to help you. There are no hidden costs, fees, or other charges, and there is no obligation whatsoever to use our tax specialists.

What will it cost to deal with the tax advisers?

Each adviser is in business on their own account so they are always competitive.

We do not impose a standard hourly rate such that each adviser will advise you of their rates and terms of business when you speak to them.

Why should I use Tax Advice Network?

  1. Unique personalised service - You get to choose your own specialist tax adviser or else you can ask us to do this by reference to your specific issues, problems or queries.
  2. Our tax advisers are pre-screened - They have all been vetted and are accredited by the Tax Advice Network. If an adviser is unable to satisfy our membership criteria they cannot become part of the Tax Advice Network.
  3. Completely free to use - The service is completely free and you pay nothing to the Tax Advice Network.
  4. No obligation - There is no obligation whatsoever on you to hire or engage with any of the tax advisers.
  5. Fast and convenient - You simply choose a specialism or enter a search term; choose one of the specialists and phone or email them directly. It's immediate, it's personal and it's fast.

Can I get any free tax advice?

None of our advisers will charge you for an initial conversation before they provide you with advice.

If you are unable to pay for valuable advice however this link will enable you to access lots of relevant material and information that may help you to resolve your tax problem. Alternatively we suggest that you contact one of the two worthy charities that exist to support and help people who cannot afford to pay for the tax advice they need.

The cheapest way of getting advice from us is through our low cost telephone helpline.

What if I just want some simple telephone advice?

Whilst you're welcome to contact any of our members to discuss your tax issue, you may find it more convenient to use our tax advice helpline and pay a fixed fee (currently £25 plus VAT) for the call.

Who are the tax adviser members of this network?

They each have at least ten years tax experience and have undertaken to abide by our terms of business which include an obligation to provide certain key information on their profiles to assist you in deciding who to contact.

How do I find a tax adviser?

You can simply type your tax problem or issue into the Search bar on the home page of the website. It's often best to just pick a few words or, if you're stuck, to look at our list of specialisms here.

When you 'search' the system will identify tax advisers who can help you. You can then check out the tax advisers' profiles, photos, ratings, testimonials and articles. And then you call or email your chosen tax adviser using the contact details on their profiles. Choose whatever approach best suits you.

How do you guarantee the quality and competence of members of the network?

We can offer no guarantees. However we do vet all prospective members as explained on the membership criteria page of the website. Our Chairman, Mark Lee, has made the point that he has more confidence in independent advisers who satisfy our criteria than in some of the more junior tax managers and staff who undertake such work at a higher cost in larger consultancies and accounting firms.

Do I need to sign anything before I can get tax advice?

Your contract for the provision of tax advice and support will be with the individual tax advisers . This will be a private contract and the Tax Advice Network will not be a party to it.

How can I provide feedback about a specific tax adviser?

We would love you to rate the tax adviser you deal with. Simply return to their profile and click the ratings link in the top box. You can leave a testimonial too - and we'd love it if you would do this.

How can I provide feedback about the website?
